How to Survive The Last Bit of Winter

Bluebells in progress
Winter fatigue has hit with full force.
These are a few things that are helping to remind me that spring is just around the corner.

1. Planting bluebell bulbs. A couple weeks ago I trekked around the city looking for a place that sold bulbs. With a friend, I finally found a little garden shop in Leslieville with two nice cats that was willing to sell me some bluebell bulbs. They've grown so well in their vintage planters! The bottom photo is from a week ago, they were just little! I love watching them grow.

2. Music. The new Fleet Foxes single. Adele's 21.

3. The search for the perfect opaque nude nail polish. I went into four shops yesterday looking for the colour of my dreams, to no avail. The most hopeful was when I found RGB Camel, but it was sold out! Any tips?

4. Dreaming of the Dace Dandelion Dress.

What is keeping you going until Spring?

I love those bluebells - spring in a jar.

Peeks of sun and tulips on my desk are helping me!

Try American Apparel? Their nailpolishes are stellar. I use the Summer Peach, which is a bit brighter than skin tone, but I think they had a more muted colour too.

My boyfriend got me some Sula nail polish for christmas and I am obsesssssed with it. It's peelable opaque nail polish but is in a grownup line of colours. I have their slate colour which is a like a tan-ish colour. They sell it at the outer layer-and it's awesome.

bulb flowers for the win! I keep looking at pretty summer clothes on the internet, and reminding myself that spring is just around the corner. Despite my ongoing wearing of long johns.

J Crew has this exclusive Essie color called Milky Way I bought a couple weeks ago, it's practically the same shade as my skin! Which is why it slightly bothers me, but I feel like it would look awesome on the right person.

the winter blah's are in full effect for me. I can't help but be miserable this time of the year.

Your bluebells are beautiful though! Adele's 21 is such a fantastic album!

What is getting me through?

- brightly coloured tulips
- David's Tea (spring time collection - Fantasy Island is so yummy)
- the sparkly ballet flats I bought at Target that I can't wait to wear

These are great things!!

I'm filling my house with flowers too, spring-cleaning and thinking of wardrobe choices for the new season! But it's wearing thin, really. I want to get out of these winter boots already!!

Have you tried Zoya's? I like that you can try the nail polish for a few cents before buying a full bottle of it. =)

What's getting me through for spring?

the fact that the days are getting longer and those small doses of warm 50s degree weather...

I'm so impressed you got them to grow in a jar without drainage! Post the flowers when they bloom!

-switching from hot chai to iced chai (as long as the coffee shop is warm enough..)
-the fact that the sun is lingering for longer...
-phasing out black sweaters for more colorful sweaters
-and, although this isnt the best thing, losing winter accessories because it is too warm outside to wear them! so far i've left a hat at a friend's house and gloves in a restaurant! oops!

oh bluebells in a jar, how sweet! I can't wait for winter on my side of the world, I think I've had enough of heat - maybe you'd like to trade?
