The Knitting Olympics

The Knitting Olympics, originally uploaded by erica_knits.

I'm so glad it's Friday. I wrote three essays this week, and I'm tired. However, that won't stop me from kicking off the knitting Olympics this evening.

Anabela gave me this book of vintage Lopi patterns for Christmas. I will be tackling that pattern on the cover (as a cardigan) for my entry in the knitting Olympics on Ravelry. I will be casting on at 9pmEST when the opening ceremonies start. I have two weeks to knit my dream Lopi sweater. Wish me luck!

How do you find the Master's in Library Science at U of T? I go to the University of Alberta and I am hating the program! I am so glad I am graduating in April.

Also, what kind of library work do you see yourself doing?

Hehe, you're too cute Erica! Can't wait to see the finished cardi-sweater! I actually just had to go and buy more yarn today, I've used all mine up crocheting granny squares and I'm not done yet, yay!

Erica, I had an epic fail last night for the Opening Ceremonies...I couldn't figure out where I was in my cable pattern, and then sometime around the lighting of the torch, I decided that I had to take out about 5" because that's the only way to get the pattern back together. I'm glad you got 5cm though! You are going to show that sweater who's boss!

Erin, It is quite the undertaking. We'll see!

Julie, every librarian I've talked to about library school has kindly told me that it's a whole lot of busy work, and that the working world is very different. Last semester at UofT wasn't great, but I am enjoying this one. I'm sorry to hear you're not a fan of UofA (that was my 2nd choice) good thing you're almost done (Congrats!). I'm not sure what kind of library I want to be in when I am all finished up here. I went into the program sold on public libraries (I'm in a minority), but now that I work in a special library and an academic one, I like them all! How about yourself? Feel free to email me, my email is on the side.

Katrina, thanks!

Michelle, I can't wait to show you!

Jen, ugh! Ripping back is hard to do. May the force be with you! We will do this!
