Inspired by cute Swedes.I threw an oversize blazer over my dress, grabbed a scarf, threw my hair up and headed out the door.
This is also so I can show off my new earrings. :)
Winter is here.

I love the soft blue light of winter.
Winter always inspires so much knitting.
For my next project I want to make a huge seed-stitch blanket, like the one underneath the fur in the first picture. But right now, I am making socks like Melinda, and piksi hats. See that red hat in the bottom right corner, doesn't Caitlyn have such beautiful hair? Not to mention Jenny in her own hand knit "Le Slouch," adorable. I love those purple walls. I'm also love with that middle row. I think it's about time I find a big mason jar to add a little light to my room. And make those vegan cupcakes that look oh so scrumptious. Excuse me, I'm off to make a wreath of ice.
Well, actually I'm off to write a paper.
Enjoy!

Coeur de Pirate || Comme des enfants from Dare To Care Records on Vimeo.
I love this video. Doesn't just make you want to go out and decorate your city?
'Tis the season for tinsel and shiny balls.

Winter boots are out.

There was a new blanket of snow on the ground. I almost hate to make those first footprints.
Reasons to love winter:
Shades of white, blue, and brown.
Fake Fur-lined boots.
Mittens.
Softness.
Remember this skirt?
Wednesday, November 12, 2008
Jenny's pattern for this skirt is in the a special issue of Stitch magazine.
I was going to wait and see if I could find it in a store, but then I panicked and thought it might sell out, like her Wiksten clothing does. So I ordered it today. You can order it here.
There is even a pattern from Martha in it, too!
To looking cute in the kitchen, and a day of remembering

(Picture from Calikartel)My boyfriend sent me this picture this morning. Baking and fashion. Cute, no?
I've been buying up a few gifts on etsy and stockpiling them away.
Other great news Mociun has an online store.
Wouldn't a girl look cute baking in this skirt?
I have been admiring this fringe scarf since Nylonmag.com posted the fall collection lookbook .
Also, another beautiful post from Nikole on what it means to be a Canadian today. Not to mention a preview of her Christmas shop.
Like Nikole mentioned today is Remembrance Day.
It is a day to remember our soldiers that have fought and died in World Wars I and II, and all the other wars, including the current battle in Afghanistan.
On Nov. 11 in the year 1918 an armistice was signed to end WWI.
It is worth remembering that 90 years ago today was the day meant to end all war.

I just treated myself to these earrings from Kate Szabone's etsy shop which I discovered through Kate from For me, For you. They are simple, delicate, and gold which is how I like my jewelery to be.
What I really want from her shop are these:

But alas, I will have to wait until I am more gainfully employed for these rings.

.....and I woke up to snow. Oh, winter, you are back.
Trying to remember the good things about winter:
Hot chocolate
Ice skating
Warm sweaters
Holidays
Shopping for gifts
Frost on the trees.
What are your favorite things about winter?

I thought I'd just stop by to show you some pictures from a hair show my friend Sara put on last night. It was set up like an art gallery, and it turned out really beautiful.
