More snow in Manitoba.

Friday, 28 March 2008

Thanks for all your get well wishes! I no longer have a sore throat, just a good old cold that will hopefully pass soon. I get sick every spring without fail, but we did get about a foot of snow last night, and we're in for a snowstorm tomorrow they say. So there's no better time to curl up with a cup of tea, look at pretty pictures, and knit a sweater. I can't wait for the new Nylon with Clemence Posy, Anja Rubik, and Chloe Sevigny. The preview looks great. Click on the images for links, except for the war poster... I'm not sure where it is from, my boyfriend passed it on.
Watch the new Feist video if you haven't already, I love her Hunter boots!
Check out AngieOwl, Crowdedteef's, and Windowsill on flickr.
Weekend To Do List:
1. Make Scuffles
2. Make Birthday Present #2
3. Get ready for the Winter Fair!
Real live Alpacas, and SuperDogs. From the Urban Spring Catalogue. I could live in this. I'm on the hunt for a braided leather belt now. I wish shipping from Urban wasn't so darn expensive for Canadians.

Good Mail

Tuesday, 25 March 2008

The kindness of other's is so inspiring to me. Today I received a lovely little package of tea and a knitting notepad (!) from Katrina. It is especially wonderful because today I have come down with a sore throat and this lovely little package has brightened my day. Now I'm off to do some knitting and drink lemon tea in my favorite mug.

Alphabet Book

Monday, 24 March 2008

Check out Krisatomic's alphabet book. Isn't it so inspiring? I love lists, especially with pictures!
It makes me want to make a book of lists myself. I think T, K, O, I, and C are my favorites.

A Birthday Present.

birthday gift, originally uploaded by erica_knits.

Sadly I had to give this beauty of a skirt away to my friend Alison for her birthday. It was really simple to make however so I will be making more. Click on the flickr link, I've explained how to make one in the comments!

new friends.

These are my new friends from Rotofugi. The boyfriend told me about the new French artist series by KidRobot and I just had to have some. I have a thing for anything French since I've been studying the language and culture for years. They come in blind boxes so you don't know what you're getting but they are all pretty fabulous. The middle guy is a Tokidoki cactus pup and I just bought him because he is cute, no? I haven't had a toy collection since Beanie Babies (yeah, I went there) but it is so tempting to buy more at just under 7 bucks. Hmm...

YarnOverMovement

Sunday, 16 March 2008

So during my weekend of writing papers I got bored and started searching the net for inspiration. During my search I found YarnOverMovement by a very hip and stylish lady by the name of Tara Lynn. (via FieldGuided and Tiffany)And this is the best part, she has a pattern for knitted fannypacks! Which of course I bought in a flash. (it was on her etsy, and I bought the last one but maybe she'll post it again.) She pulls it off completely so I hope I can do the same. Meanwhile, my boyfriend is totally rolling his eyes and saying "Yay, now we can fulfill our dream of going to six flags". Whatever, she looks fabulous! (also he hasn't seen it yet.)
