Last Thursday, February 21st was my twenty first birthday. I love birthdays because of all the phone calls. I was able to catch up with so many friends and not to mention the gifts! I just received this tank top and bag today from my lovely friend Kaleigh (not a blogger, yet) that she made!! Isn't she incredible? I'm also wearing my Uniqlo jeans and my Topshop gladiator sandals from London. I'm seriously kicking myself for not buying two pairs of these jeans, they are fantastic and so soft.
In the meantime I am filling my days with Frida Kahlo research for an up and coming paper, and developing a blogging surprise!
Oh, and this never ceases to make me smile.

Perhaps I will be able to have a little Mociun for myself after all.
I own a little silk-screen frame and I've been making little one-offs for the past few years but in the last few weeks I've been coming up with designs to attempt screen fabric on a larger scale! Mociun has been such an inspiration and I especially love her minimal color palette.
I just hope I can find the time to put my ideas into practice.

Things I learned in London:
-Walk on the left, but stand on the right side of the escalator. If you do not abide by this you will get mowed down by men in business suits.
-Talk quietly, and use all your manners. The Brits are polite!
-Mind the Gap. Anyone who's been on the Tube knows what I'm talking about.
-Don't pack two large suitcases and expect to have an easy time at a hostel... 5 flights of stairs people, not good.
-Drink as many fruit smoothies as you can, they are fantastic!
-Go to the V&A (The Victoria and Albert Museum) It was definitely my favorite museum on the trip. Full of British History, especially textile history and it is really interactive.
-Bring cash. The exchange rate is so terrible it's better if the cash is already converted. That way you don't have to double all the prices as you put them on your credit. Yikes!
-Ignore all signs in Hyde Park except for the maps. They lie!!
-When you get off the tube at Whitechapel station and it says "Beware of Muggings in This Area," get right back on the Tube. Seriously, don't go. Especially at night. We did.
-Go to all the museum's cafes and restaurants. They are usually quite reasonable and absolutely delicious.
-Don't get sick! I had to miss one day because I couldn't get out of bed. I was so sad.
-Primark. It's really cheap, but unfortunately looks really cheap too.
-Topshop. Absolutely fantastic! Very painful exchange rate.

Trafalgar Square... I'm back and I don't think I'll ever be the same. London was wonderful and I'm too jet lagged and speechless to explain at the moment. I can't wait to catch up with everyone!

I've been away for awhile and I'm going to be away for awhile more. I'm busy making mittens for shop orders (Thank you!), writing papers, and on Thursday I'm off to London, England. I hope to make it up to you with tons of pictures from my trip. Have a great week, and an early Happy Valentines Day!
I'm also trying to get used to wearing my hair curly like Stephanie.
