The Evening Shell

Saturday, 15 September 2007

twinkle styling.. again, originally uploaded by erica_knits.

I bought Twinkle's Big City Knits by Wenlan Chia, way back in the spring when it came out.. about the time the weather started to warm up. Now that it is getting rapidly colder I thought it was about time to give it a try. I chose the Evening Shell because I thought it would really work in a layered look. All said and done I finished it in three days! That is record knitting time.

School has started...

Tuesday, 11 September 2007

So school has started once again, and that's only some of the books I have to read in three months! Being in third year is great, my classes are smaller, interesting, and full of discussions and debates. Unfortunately, it will probably mean that I will post even less! :(
I have been really busy knitting and sewing though. I'm currently attempting my first Twinkle By Wenlan pattern and it is knitting up ridiculously quick. that is only 20 rows of knitting!

I've also been sewing like crazy! In one week I whipped up two Built By Wendy dresses, the plaid dress is made out of fabric I found at a thrift store for about 25 cents! I still have 2 meters of this awesome purple knit fabric that I'm not sure what to do with which was about 2 dollars.

Robin Hoodie... My First Design!

Sunday, 2 September 2007

This is my very first design ever! I made the pattern all by myself,
okay, with a little help from here and here.
By a complete accident however, the hood is quite Maid Marian like..
or cultish, I'm not sure. I was going to change it, but it is growing on me after all.

Inspired by Mike and Chris
